To provide a fireproof member having good installation of work and handleability, and having high reliability to block up a penetrating part in the case of a fire in the fire prevention of the elongated penetrating part in a fire prevention section, and to provide a fireproof method using the same.
This fireproof member 1 is packed around an elongated body of an elongated penetrating part in a fire protection section. A thermal expansion fireproof material obtained by mixing resin material and expansion material as principal components and having elasticity is formed into a tube shape to form a fireproof molding 2. The fire resistant molding is wrapped with a bag 3 made of a cloth or a film to construct the fireproof member 1. Preferably the cloth or the film includes flame retardant material or incombustible material. Further preferably the fireproof member 1 is packed around the elongated 12 so that the axis of the tube-shaped fire resistant molding 2 is substantially parallel to an opening surface of the elongated penetrating part 11 to achieve fire prevention processing.
