PURPOSE: To suppress the deformation of a setter caused by its own weight and to prevent the deformation of a honeycomb structure in firing by placing a raw setter and a raw ceramic structure on a baked setter and firing the assembly.

CONSTITUTION: A raw setter 2 composed of a ceramic plate having honeycomb structure containing vertical flow channels and a raw ceramic structure 1 are placed on a baked setter 3 composed of a ceramic plate having the above honeycomb structure with an aperture of 0.8-310 cells/cm2. A spacer 4 is inserted between the baked setter 3 and a shelf and the obtained assembly is fired to obtain a ceramic article.
