Title:
FISCHER-TROPSCH SYNTHESIS USING MICROCHANNEL TECHNOLOGY, NOVEL CATALYST AND MICROCHANNEL REACTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2016166210
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis process using microchannel technology.SOLUTION: There is provided a process for converting a reactant composition comprising H2 and CO to a product comprising at least one aliphatic hydrocarbon having at least 5 carbon atoms by flowing the reactant composition through a microchannel reactor in contact with a Fischer-Tropsch catalyst. The catalyst comprises Co supported by a carrier. The microchannel reactor comprises a plurality of process microchannels including the catalyst. Each process microchannel has an internal dimension the width or height of which is in the range of up to 10 mm. The catalyst is in the form of a fixed bed of particulate solids. The particulate solid has a median particle diameter in the range of 1-1000 μm. The process includes the steps of transferring heat from the process microchannels to a heat exchanger, and removing the product from the microchannel reactor.SELECTED DRAWING: None
