Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fitting member which exhibits controlled hygroscopic expansion and good dimensional stability.
SOLUTION: In a fitting member, a decorative sheet having a decorative layer on the surface is laminated on at least one side of a core material which are set up optionally with a sash material such as a vertical sash and a horizontal sash. A glyoxal resin-impregnated layer is formed on the back of the decorative sheet. Since a water insoluble reaction product is formed in the wooden substrate of the decorative sheet through insolubilization by the self- polycondensation of the glyoxal resin, by ether linkages derived from hydroxyl groups of cellulose and others in the wooden substrate, and by ether linkages derived from hydroxyl groups of polyols when polyols are added to the resin, hygroscopicity is lowered and dimensional stability improves.
