Abstract:

To provide an interferential pigment having much improved brightness, strong luster and more remarkable color flop than those of known multilayered pigments.

The five-layered pigment based on a multi-coated flake substrate comprises at least following (A) to (F). (A) is a SnO2 layer having 0.1-50 nm thickness, (B) is a high refractive index coat layer comprising a rutile type TiO2 and having 10-800 nm thickness, (C) is a colorless coat layer having 20-800 nm thickness and ≤1.8 refractive index n, (D) is a high refractive index cover layer comprising SnO2 having 0.1-50 nm thickness, (E) is a rutile type TiO2 layer having 10-800 nm thickness and (F) is an optional outer protective layer. The pigment is applied to coatings, coats, coating powders, printing ink, security printing ink, plastics, ceramic materials and glass. The pigment is applied as a dopant for laser marking of paper and plastics. The pigment is applied to cosmetic preparation. The pigment is applied to preparing pigment preparation and drying preparation.
