Title:
FIVE-LEVEL POWER CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2014093838
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a five-level power converter that suppresses a harmonic current by preventing an error from occurring in an output voltage.

A five-level voltage conversion section 200R comprises diodes DR1-DR6, switching elements SR1-SR4 and flying capacitors CR1, CR2. A similar five-level voltage conversion section 200S is also provided. A common node O of DR2 and DR3 is connected to an input terminal A for an AC power supply via a reactor Lin. A load 120 is connected between cathodes of DR5, DS5 and anodes of DR6, DS6. Clamp capacitors C1, C2 are connected between both ends of the load 120. Ends of SR4, SS4 are connected to a common node NP of C1, C2. SR1-SR4 are controlled on/off according to a plurality of switching patterns having an only pattern for a zero voltage to output a five-level voltage between O and NP.
