Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixation device which is capable of achieving less power consumption and enables high-level fixation.SOLUTION: A fixation device comprises: a heating fixation member that is rotatably provided and comprises a first electrode pair each of which is disposed on an outer peripheral part of an end part in the rotational axis direction; a heating belt that is rotatably provided together with the heating fixation member, includes at least a base layer, a resistance heating element layer and a second electrode pair for electrically connecting with the resistance heating element layer, and heats the surface of the heating fixation member; a backup member that holds, facing the heating fixation member, the heating belt therebetween in order to contact the first and second electrode pairs with each other; power supply means that electrically conducts to the first electrode pair and supplies power to the resistance heating element layer of the heating belt via the second electrode pair; and a pressure member that is pressed against the heating fixation member so as to form a nip part for heating and melting an unfixed image on a recording material, and is rotatably provided. The backup member is disposed outside a paper passing area of the heating fixation member, where the recording material passes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
