Title:
SUBSTRATE FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3210513
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a substrate for a liquid crystal display element having excellent lightweightness, heat resistance, transparency and adhesion property to transparent electrodes.
CONSTITUTION: This substrate for the liquid crystal display device is formed by coating at least one surface of a transparent resin substrate with a transparent film 1 consisting of an inorg.oxide and consisting of this transparent film of the inorg. oxide of a hydrolyzed polycondensate of a metal alkoxide. As a result, a reduction in weight by about 60% is attained while the image quality equal to the image quality of liquid crystal cells formed by using glass substrates is attained. The liquid crystal cell having the excellent moisture resistance and impact resistance is thus formed.
