PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixator for a shoulder joint capable of dealing with a functional limb position and various type limb positions except the functional limb position, easily dealing with individual patients and obtaining a sufficient fixture even to a patient's motion.
SOLUTION: This fixator for the shoulder joint comprises a fixing unit 1 having a curved surface 4 formed by cutting out a bottom 2 along one side 3 of side faces from a square regular prism, and belts 10 and 13 for fixing the unit 1 to a surface of a body. In this case, lengths (p) of not cut-out adjacent sides 5 and 6 of the bottom 2 of the prism are substantially equal to a length of an arm. Lengths (q) and (r) of the partly cut-out residual two sides 7 and 8 are each decided from a side length in the arm and a required different lateral elevational angle. A height (s) of the prism is decided to be substantially 2/3 of the length of a front arm to a hand. An upper extremity is fixed to any surface of the unit by an upper extremity holding belt 10. Any face of the unit 1 is fixed to a surface of a body by a hoisting belt 13 thereby to hold the extremity to a required limb position.
