Abstract:
To improve the durability of a fixed constant velocity joint by relaxing variation in the load received by the ball of the joint.SOLUTION: In a fixed constant velocity joint, a gap between an inner periphery side track groove or an outer periphery side track groove and a ball changes depending on a rotation phase when a differential angle between the rotational axis of an outer component and the rotational axis of an inner component increases, so that shared load of a ball changes and the durability of the fixed constant velocity joint is adversely affected. However at least one of the inner periphery side track groove 12b of an outer component 12 and the outer periphery side track groove 14b of an inner component 14 is formed in such a manner that the groove width at the other end is formed wider than the groove width at the one end, so that even when the differential angle θ between the rotational axis 11 of the outer component 12 and the rotational axis 13 of an inner component 14 increases, the gap between the inner track groove 12b or the outer track groove 14b and a ball 15 is prevented from changing depending on the rotational phase, accordingly it is possible to relax the variation of the shared load of the ball 15 and to enhance the durability of the fixed constant velocity joint.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
