Abstract:
PURPOSE: To automatically change and fix the interval between the wheels of a train regardless of its driving direction by installing a railway gage chang ing fixed facility consisting of a guide rail, a change guide, unlocking/locking devices, and the like between two railway lines with different gages.
CONSTITUTION: A vehicle entering from a rail 2 of an international gage at the right end in the drawing is slid on plastic guide rails 4 whose central part is raised, installed on a concrete block 10 that can withstand the weight of the vehicle with water as a lubricant, thus releasing the load of a body applied to wheels. Then, the vehicle is passed through an elastic section 5, a rigid section 6, and the elastic section 5 in this order of the change guide installed between the guide rails 4 and is extended to the car interval of the rail 3 of RENFE-type gage at the left end in the drawing. When a train is moved in an opposite direction, the interval between wheels is reduced. The locking of the wheels is automatically released and unlocked before and after changing the interval between the wheels.
