Title:
FIXED POLAR OXYGEN SENSOR ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5550154
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a fixed polar oxygen sensor, which is simple in construction but highly reliable, by mounting an outer electrode on the outer circumference of a solid electrolytic sintered body having a tapered special shape, in which a fixed pole with a lead wire is buried in the leading end thereof.

CONSTITUTION: A fixed pole with a lead wire 2 is buried in the leading end of a solid electrolytic sintered body, which is tapered as a whole and which is composed of a reduced portion A, an intermediate portion B and a portion C having a larger diameter (Here, the distance between the leading end of the sintered body 1 and the fixed pole 5 is preferred to be about 0.5W2mm). A conductive paste is applied and baked to the outer surface of the sintered body 1 in a manner to exceed the portions A and B and to partially enter the portion C. An outer electrode 3 (or the electrode to contact with the gases to be measured) is provided and is covered with a protecting film 4 at the portions A and B, thus providing the sensor element.
