Abstract:

To stably secure cage strength at a high angle in a fixed type constant velocity universal joint employing eight torque transmission balls.

In BJ type and UJ type of fixed type constant velocity universal joints having eight torque transmission balls 30, a ratio occupied by a non-hardened layer in a pole 48 of a cage 40 is set to 0.30≤C/S≤0.75, where S is the cross area of the pole 48 of the cage 40, and C is the area of the non-hardened layer of the pole 48.
