The fixed type constant velocity universal joint is provided with the outer ring 10 having a plurality of the track grooves 14 on an inner spherical surface 12, an inner ring having a plurality of track grooves on an outer spherical surface, a plurality of balls interposed between the outer ring 10 and the inner ring and transmitting torque, and a cage interposed between the outer ring 10 and the inner ring and holding the balls. An opening side groove bottom of the track groove 14 of the outer ring 10 is tapered, and an inner side groove bottom of the track groove of the inner ring is tapered, and an outside diameter corresponding to a straight line part 14b of the track groove 14 of the outer ring 10 is a conic shape having a tapered angle identical with the straight line part 14b of the track groove 14, and the track groove 14 of the outer ring 10 is formed by cold forging finish.
