To provide a fixing apparatus configured to prevent a change in fixing nip width due to heat expansion of a pressure member to prevent an abnormal image from being formed, without complicating a structure or increasing cost.
In a fixing apparatus 20, when a toner image passes through a fixing nip which is formed between a fixing member having a heat source and a rotatable pressure rotating body in contact with each other, the toner image is heated/pressurized to melt toner to infiltrate in a recording body for fixation. When the pressure rotating body 31 comes in contact with a contact member 53 provided in an unmoving part 54, a facing distance to the fixing member 21 is regulated. The contact member 53 is arranged in a part of a heat transmission path from the fixing member 21.
