Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the service life of a fixing apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing apparatus 19 includes: a fixing belt 24; a pressure member 25 which comes into pressure contact with the fixing belt 24 to form a fixing nip 34; a pressing member 26 which is arranged inside the fixing belt, to press the fixing belt 24 against the pressure member 25; and a sheet member 27 arranged between the fixing belt 24 and the pressing member 26. The sheet member 27 includes: a sliding-contact section 50 which comes into sliding-contact with an inner circumferential surface of the fixing belt 24; an upstream fixing section 51 which is fixed to the pressing member 26 upstream of the sliding-contact section 50 in a sheet conveyance direction; a downstream fixing section 52 which is fixed to the pressing member 26 downstream of the sliding-contact section 50 in the sheet conveyance direction; and a slack section 53 formed in at least one of a location between the sliding-contact section 50 and the upstream fixing section 51 and a location between the sliding-contact section 50 and the downstream fixing section 52.
