To provide a fixing belt capable of preventing both peeling at an interface and brittle-cracking, and to provide the method of manufacturing the same.
The fixing belt 10 has joint layers 101 and 102 which are obtained by diffuse-joining of metallic layers, and each of which has thickness of 0.01 to 0.1 m. Heat treatment with a diffusion area (A) shown by the expression satisfying 8.8100 to 6.8102m2 is applied to a laminate composed of two or more metallic layers 10a, 10b and 10c so as to form the joint layers and then, plastic working is applied to the laminate so as to form an endless belt. An expression: (A)=DOexp(-QNA/kT)t, wherein (A) denotes diffusion area, DO denotes diffusion frequency, Q denotes activation energy of self-diffusion, NA denotes Avogadro's number, (k) denotes Boltzmann constant, T denotes heat-treatment temperature, (t) denotes heat-treatment time.
