Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an organic compound containing formic acid and formaldehyde and to enable the removal of carbon dioxide which is a main cause of global warming from atmosphere by carrying out vapor-phase plasma chemical reaction of carbon dioxide with water under specific pressure.
CONSTITUTION: Carbon dioxide and water are subjected to vapor-phase plasma chemical reaction under a pressure between 0.01mmHg and the atmospheric pressure to obtain an organic compound containing formic acid and formaldehyde and to effect the fixation of carbon dioxide. The molar ratio of carbon dioxide to water is preferably 1-5.
