Abstract:

To provide a fixing device, along with an image forming apparatus and fixing heater for the fixing device, capable of preventing deterioration in mechanical strength while suppressing excessive rise of temperature in a no-paper passing region of the fixing heater.

The fixing heater 51 includes a heating layer for heating with Joule heat and the heating layer contains high ion conductor with electrical conductivity rising exponentially along with the rising of the temperature and having NTC characteristic in the fixing device 5 having the fixing heater 51 for heat fixing a toner image on a recording sheet.
