Abstract:
To provide a fixing device and an image forming apparatus which have simple configurations and good operability and are free from the occurrence of abnormality such as breakage of component members like a heating member.
A heating member (for example, a halogen heater) 401 disposed in a pressure roller (not shown in the figure) being a fixing member is supported by a supporting member 403 through an elastic member 402a or 402b. Even when an impact from a pressure lever (not shown in the figure) is applied to the pressure roller during jam processing or the like, the impact is damped by the elastic member 402a or 402b to prevent breakage of the heating means 401.
