Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that is configured to suppress or prevent damage to a fixing member in assembling a holding member that supports the fixing member.SOLUTION: A fixing device includes a fixing member 21 that can rotate while being heated by a heat source 23, an opposite rotating body 22 that applies pressure against the fixing member 21 while in a contact state being in contact with the fixing member 21 to form a nip part N, a shielding member 30 that is arranged on the inside of the fixing member 21 to partially shield the heat from the heat source 23, and holding members 40 that are attached to both ends of the fixing member 21. The shielding member 30 has a gap forming part GM for forming a gap for insertion of the holding member 40, between at least one end 30A1 and the inside of an end 21A of the fixing member 21 corresponding to the end during the insertion of the holding member 40.
