The paper 1 holding an unfixed toner image is made to pass between a pair of fixing rollers brought into press-contact with each other, and the unfixed toner image is fixed on the paper 1. In this case, this device is provided with a heating roller 3 constituting at least one of the pair of fixing rollers and provided with plural heaters with different heating areas, and meandering straightening means 5, 6a, 6b, 7a, and 7b straightening the meandering of the paper by the control of the temperature distribution in the heating roller shaft direction based on the meandering information of the paper 1.
