Abstract:
To provide a fixing device which inexpensively detects the abnormally high temperature of a heat roller, without melting of the receiving member of the heat roller and breakage of the weak portion of a heater substrate and has enhanced responsiveness, thereby surely preventing a smoking accident or the like.
When the heat roller 51 is excessively heated due to the abnormality of a heating source 55 or the like, a heat shrinkable tube 53c covering a fixing belt 53 is shrunken, then, the heat roller 51 is displaced from a predetermined position, with the result that the power supply to the heating source 55 is interrupted by an interrupting means 59.
