Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve, in a fixing device of a film heating system that cools a non-paper feed area of a fixing member with a fan, both reduction in the number of UFPs to be generated and prevention of damage to a fixing device member due to an increase in temperature of the non-paper feed area.SOLUTION: When the temperature of a fixing device at the start of printing is a low temperature (room temperature), the fixing device changes a threshold temperature for starting to drive a cooling fan for a non-paper feed area to a low-temperature side to decrease the temperature of the non-paper feed area, and thereby reducing the number of UFPs to be generated. When a predetermined continuous print time is elapsed, the fixing device changes the threshold temperature to a high temperature side to maintain an atmospheric temperature of the fixing device at a high temperature, and thereby accelerating recombination of the UFPs to reduce the number of the UFPs to be generated and preventing damage to a fixing device member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
