PURPOSE: To prevent a rolling material from the temperature drop during rolling by interposing cylinders having pistons respectively between adjoining rolling mills and between the mills and stands to fix the mills respectively.
CONSTITUTION: Horizontal mills 1 and vertical mills 2 are arranged alternately in tandem. Stands 8 equipped with cylinders which have pistons 9, 9 capable of projecting in the material passing direction of the mills 1, 2 are fixed to a base 7. Further, a spacer 10 equipped with cylinders which have pistons 11 capable of projecting in the material passing direction is inserted into the mutual gap between the mills 1, 2. Then, plural sets of the mills are fixed by the stands 8 placed at both sides by projecting the pistons 9, 9 of the stands 8 and the pistons 11 of respective spacers 10.
