PURPOSE: To fix accurately an axis to a member by a simple process, by setting the member between upper and lower dies and punching a hole in the member by using, as a punch, the axis restricted by the upper die and forcing the axis into the member simultaneously.

CONSTITUTION: A metallic plate 4 is set between upper and lower dies 5, 6, and the plate 4 on the die 6 is punched by using, as a punch, an axis 3 restricted by the die 5. Simultaneously, when the plate 4 is punched by the axis 3, the front tip 3' of axis 3 is forced into the plate 4 to fix the axis 3 to the plate 4. In this way, the fixing of an axis is performed accurately in a short time.
