Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing method capable of securely suppressing a developer on a recording material from being electrostatically offset to a fixing device side, thereby keeping a good quality image formation.
SOLUTION: The fixing device 23 includes a fixing roller 231 which is in contact with an unfixed image formed from the developer T on one of the sides of the recording material P, and a pressure roller 232 which is in firm contact with the fixing roller 231. The recording material P electrified to the same polarity as the developer T is passed between the fixing roller 231 and the pressure roller 232, thereby the unfixed image is fixed to the recording material P. In the fixing device 23, a current Ih flowing in the fixing roller 231 when the recording material P is passed between the fixing roller 231 and the pressure roller 232 is set to 0.
