Abstract:

PURPOSE: To fix an optical fiber cord tightly and securely by clamping the tensile strength reinforcing member of the optical fiber cord with tapered end surfaces of the 1st and the 2nd clamping members and fixing the optical fiber cord to optical coupling equipment, etc.

CONSTITUTION: The 1st clamping member 11 is fixed to a fixation plate 1 as the fitting part of the optical coupling equipment 6. Then, the optical fiber cord 1 is run through the through hole 7 of the 1st clamping member 11. Then, the tensile strength reinforcing material 3 which covers the optical fiber core 2 of the optical fiber cord 1 is clamped with the tapered end surface 9 of the 1st clamping member 11 and the tapered end surface 10 of the 2nd clamping member 12. At this time, a small amount of an adhesive is applied over the tensile strength reinforcing material 3 for more secure fixation. Further, a clamping member 15 is engaged threadably with the 1st clamping member 11 across the 2nd clamping member 12 to increase the press-contacting force between both end surfaces 9 and 10, so that the tensile strength reinforcing material 3 is clamped tightly and fixed.
