Abstract:
A process for the fixation of organic dyestuffs on materials having a fibrous structure had been found, in which an organic dyestuff containing one or several groups of the formula (I) (I) wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 each represent a non-ionic, anionic or cationic substituent, with the exception of a primary or secondary amino group or the salts thereof, is applied in dissolved form onto said materials and subsequently subjected to the action of nitrous acid. The process yields fiber materials on which active substances, such as dyestuffs, brighteners, mothproofing agents, water-repellent agents, etc., are fixed fast; the novel process is especially and advantageously suitable in combination with the ice-color technique.
