Title:
FIXING STRUCTURE OF SUSPENSION ARM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08295109
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve workability when assembling and productivity of an arm by fixing an inner end of an interfering substance side of a suspension arm on a stud of a ball joint secured on the body.

CONSTITUTION: A ball joint 4 of the inside end of an upper arm 1 comprises a socket 16 fixed on a cross member 5, a ball stud 15 dangling from the socket 16 toward the bottom of the body and a seat bearing. A tapered shaft of the ball stud 15 is inserted in a mounting opening 18 at inside end of the upper arm 1 by screwing down a nut 17 threading the tip of the ball stud 15. Therefore, when assembling, screwing operation of the nut 17 of the ball joint 4 can be performed from under the body, thereby ensuring sufficient space for tool and improving workability. Moreover, this can avoid effectively the interference of the upper arm 1 with a side member without changing a suspension point. Further, even if there is an interfering substance A, this can expand a span L because there is no need to secure space for tool.
