Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dry abrasion medium capable of preventing the adhesion of the resin of the medium to a workpiece and preventing the clogging of the medium over a long period of time.
SOLUTION: A desired medium comprises, as the major components, an abradant composed of a white alundum, a lubricant mainly containing a glycerol monostearate and an unsaturated polyester resin as the binder, and can prevent the adhesion of the unsaturated polyester resin to a workpiece and that of the abrasive tailings to the surface of the medium by the action of the lubricant, particularly by the so-called outer slipping action which adjusts the slip of the resin relative to the barrel and the workpiece to prevent their adhesion and improves the separation from the metal surface.
