To provide a method of shaping of the root of a gas turbine part by clamping the part into a fixture.

The turbine part 30 like a turbine blade is clamped into the fixture 60 having a base 62 that supports the balance of the fixture 60 and a stopper 64 that restricts the movement of the turbine part 30. The fixture 60 further has two clamp arms 70, 74 attached to the base 62, and the two arms 70, 74 controlably clamp a pair of the pressed surface of the root so as to press the turbine part 30 against the stopper 64, but preferably another pair of the pressed surface of the root is also contact with the stopper 64. When the turbine part 30 is clamped in this position, its root 36 can be easily shaped by grinding, etc.
