PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compd. having good heat resistance, fluidity property and toughness by blending a polyalkylene terephthalate, a thermoplastic polyurethane, an acrylate rubber, an organohalogen compd. and antimony oxide.
CONSTITUTION: A flame-resistant thermoplastic compd. for molding use is obtd. by blending (A) 12.5-84.5 pts.wt. of a polyalkylene terephthalate (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate), (B) 5-30 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic polyurethane, (C) 5-30 pts.wt. of an acrylate rubber (e.g. a butyl acrylate/methyl methacrylate copolymer rubber), (D) 5-20 pts.wt. of a halogen-contg. org. compd. (e.g. ethylene-1,2- bistetrabromophthalimide) and (E) 0.5-7.5 pts.wt. of antimony trioxide or antimony pentaoxide, the sum of A+B+C+D+E being 100 pts.wt. This thermoplastic compd. is suitable esp. for cable coating, etc.
