Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase flame resistance of an insulator to get a required mechanical characteristic thereof by covering the core wire with an organic or inorganic fiber cloth 4 containing of hollow glass beads and dispersed synthetic resin.

CONSTITUTION: The external circumference of a conductor 1 covered with an insulator 2 is coated with a cloth 4 of organic or inorganic fiber containing dispersed synthetic resins and hollow glass beads whose average grain size is 50μm or less, and an insulating cover 5 made of polyolefine and metal hydroxide is installed on the outside of the external circumference. At the time of manufacture of this wire, a composition made of hollow glass beads whose average grain size is 50μm or less and dispersed synthetic resin of 10-30 parts by weight for 100 pats by weight of the beads is impregnated into the band-like cloth 4 such that the amount of the composition comes to 2cm2 per 100cm2 of the area of the cloth, and this cloth 4 is wound round the external circumference of the insulator 2 and the external circumference of the cloth 4 is covered with the insulating cover 5 made of polyolefine and metal hydroxide.
