Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition excellent in flame retardance, impact resistance, moldability and appearance and capable of imparting heat resistance when needed by including a styrene based resin and a specific halogen-based flame retardant.
SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. styrene-based resin comprising (i) 2-60wt.% styrene-based copolymer containing a maleimide group- containing monomer unit, (ii) 0-98wt.% styrene-based graft copolymer and (iii) 0-98wt.% styrene-based copolymer and (B) 3-30 pts.wt. total amount of (iv) 3-30 pts.wt. flame retardant which is a halogenated triazine compound of the formula (T1 to T3 are each a halogenated alkyl or a halogenated phenoxy), preferably 2,4,6-tris(2,4,6-tribromophenoxy)1,3,5-triazine and (v) 0-27 pts.wt. halogen-based flame retardant other than component (v) and (C) 0-70 pts.wt. flame retardant auxiliary, preferably antimony oxide.
