Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a noncorrosive composition which has excellent flame retardancy and does not emit any noxious gases by mixing a polyalkylene terephthalate with a reinforcing filler, a melamine/cyanuric acid adduct and a specified flame retardant in a specified ratio.
CONSTITUTION: This composition comprises 100 pts.wt. polyalkylene terephthalate (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate), 30-250 pts.wt. reinforcing filler (e.g. glass), 5-50 pts.wt. melamine/cyanuric acid adduct and 5-50 pts.wt. phosphoruscontaining flame retardant of the formula (wherein R0 is isopropylidene, methylene, carbonyl or sulfone; and R1 to R9 and R'1 to R'9 are each H or alkyl).
