Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a flame-retardant polyamide composition composed of a specified ratio of a specified heat-resistant polyamide, a modified polyolefin, diantimony tetroxide and a halogen compound, capable of molding without foaming or coloring and excellent in thermal stability.

CONSTITUTION: This flame-resistant polyamide composition is composed of (A) 6 to 10 pts.wt. heat-resistant polyamide, e.g. an aromatic polyamide such as a terephthalamide having a structural unit of the fofmulp (R1 is a divalent hydrocarbon) or nylon 46, (B) 0 to 40 pts.wt. modified polyolefin modified, e.g. with acrylic acid, (C) diantimony tetroxide in an amount of 0.5 to 50 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. total amount of the components (A) and (B) and (D) 10 to 60 pts.wt. halogen compound such as polydibromostyrene.
