Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester composition having excellent flameretardancy and mechanical properties and good retention stability by compounding a specific amount of a specific brominated polystyrene to a polyester having melt- anisotropy. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a melt-anisotropic polyester containing ethylenedioxy unit as essential component and having a meltviscosity of 10-15,000 poise with (B) 0.5-60 pts.wt. of a brominated polystyrene having a weight-average molecular weight of 30X 10<4>-100X10<4>, especially a polymer containing the structural unit of formula as main constituent component.
