Abstract:

To provide a polyolefin resin composition suitably usable as a covering material for electric wires/cables and improved in flame retardancy without deteriorating its mechanical properties (e.g. breaking strength, tensile strength, elongation), and to provide electric wires/cables covered with the composition.

This flame-retardant polyolefin resin composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of an ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer, (B) 50-150 pts.wt. of a metal hydroxide and (C) 0.1-150 pt(s).wt. of silicone powder.
