Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition excellent in mechanical properties, flexibility and heat resistance and to provide a molded article using the resin composition, for example, a wiring material, an optical fiber code and other molded articles, more specifically, to provide a flame-retardant resin composition that satisfies flexibility required of a wiring material, an optical fiber code and other molded articles and at the same time has heat resistance in combination and to provide a molded article using the resin composition.SOLUTION: The flame-retardant resin composition contains a metal hydrate in an amount of 120-300 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of (A) a thermoplastic resin component containing (a) 60-97 mass% at least one resin selected from among an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, an ethylene/(meth)acrylic acid copolymer and an ethylene/(meth)acrylic acid ester copolymer, (b) 30-3 mass% polypropylene resin modified with maleic anhydride and (c) 0-27 mass% polyethylene resin modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof. The content of vinyl acetate, a (meth)acrylic acid and a (meth)acrylic acid ester, which are the copolymer components in the component (a), is 20-50 mass% in the thermoplastic resin component (A).
