Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the composition which is nondripping during burning, has flame retardancy high enough to pass VW-1 stipulated in UL Specifications and does not form any noxious gas during burning.
CONSTITUTION: The composition comprises 100 pts.wt. in total of at least one resin (a) selected from among an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer, an ethylene/ethyl acrylate copolymer and an ethylene/methyl methacrylate copolymer resin and a phenol novolac resin (b) [the (a) to (b) ratio being 95:5 to 80:20], 2-15 pts.wt. phosphoric flame retardant, 3-15 pts.wt. zinc borate, and 50-150 pts.wt. hydrated metal compound.
