PURPOSE: To obtain a resin compsn. which is excellent in impact resistance and self-extinguishability and does not pollute the global environment by copolymerizing a halogenated vinyl monomer with specific monomers and, if necessary, by compounding a copolymer compsn. contg. the resulting polymer with an auxiliary flame retardant.
CONSTITUTION: This resin compsn. contains 100 pts.wt. copolymer compsn. and 0-30 pts.wt. auxiliary flame retardant. The copolymer compsn. comprises 0-100% rubber-reinforced resin formed by copolymerizing a halogenated vinyl monomer, an alkylarom. vinyl monomer, and an arom. vinyl monomer in the presence of a rubbery polymer, 0-100% copolymer formed by copolymerizing the halogenated vinyl monomer, the alkylarom. vinyl monomer, and the arom. vinyl monomer, and 0-70% copolymer formed by copolymerizing 50-100% arom. vinyl monomer with 50-0% vinyl cyanide monomer, and the copolymer compsn. has a halogen content of 1-40% and an alkylarom. vinyl monomer content of 1-40%.
