PURPOSE: To obtain a highly flame retardant resin compsn. without using a halogen flame retarder by compounding a specified phosphorus flame retarder in a specified polymer compsn.
CONSTITUTION: This flame-retardant resin compsn. contains 3-50 pts.wt. ingredient B per 100 pts.wt. ingredient A both described below. The ingredient A is a polymer compsn. consisting of 0-100wt.% of the below described rubber- reinforced resin A1 and 100-0wt.% of the below described polymer A2. The resin A1 is a rubber-reinforced resin obtd. by polymerizing 95-30wt.% monomer ingredients (b) being at least one among arom. vinyl compd., vinyl cyanide compd., etc., in the presence of 5-70wt.% rubbery polymer (a) and with the graft ratio is 5-150wt.%. The polymer A2 is a polymer obtd. by polymerizing at least one monomer ingredient selected from the above described A1-b. The ingredient B is at least one phosphorus-contg. compd. selected from the compds. of formulas I and II. In formula I, R1 to R4 are each a hydrocarbon residue and R5 to R8 are each hydrogen and a hydrocarbon residue and X1 to R6 are each O or S and q1 to q6 are each 0 or 1 and n is 1-30. In formula II, R1 to R8, X1 to 6, q1 to q7, R9 to R12 and n are the same as those formula I.
