Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the resistances to light, heat, and impact by compounding a rubber-modified arom. vinyl resin with two specific compds. and Sb2O3.
CONSTITUTION: 100 pts.wt. rubber-modified arom. vinyl resin (A) having a rubbery polymer content of 4-15wt.%, a mean particle diameter of 0.5-6.0μm, and a gel content (toluene insols. content) of 15-40wt.% is compounded with 1-20 pts.wt. compd. (B) of formula I (wherein R1 is H or a group of formula II or III; R' is a phenyl group optionally substd. by a lower alkyl group and/or Br or Cl; X is Br or Cl; i is 0-4; and n is 0-30) having at wt.-average mol.wt. of 500-10,000 and 15-5 pts.wt. compound (C) of formula IV (wherein m and n are each 0-4 provided that m+n≥1; and R is a divalent org. group) in an amt. of the sum of components B and C of 15-26 pts.wt., and 1-10 pts.wt. Sb2O3.
