PURPOSE: A composition capable of giving molded articles having improved flame retardancy, producing a small amount of smoke during combustion without melt dripping.
CONSTITUTION: A flame-retardant vinyl chloride resin composition comprising A (100 parts by wt. of vinyl chloride resin, B) 5W200 parts by wt. of an inorganic compound containing water of crystallization whose dissociation equilibrium vapor pressure is 1 atm. at a temperature of 150W600°C (preferably zinc borate having an average particle diameter ≤100μ, etc.),C (0.05W10 parts by wt., of zinc powder or 0.05W10 parts by wt., calculted as zinc, of an inorganic zinc compound powder, and D) 0W200 parts by wt. of inorganic fibers e.g. glass fibers or metal fibers such as stainless steel fibers.
