Abstract:
To obtain both an inexpensive flame retardant having great flame retarding effects without substantially containing an atom such as a halogen, phosphorus or nitrogen and a flame retardant resin composition flame-retarded by using the flame retardant.
This flame retardant comprises a polymer composed of silicon, titanium and oxygen, having a skeleton substantially formed of silicon-oxygen bonds and titanium-oxygen bonds and further having aromatic rings in the molecule. The flame retardant resin composition is obtained by including the flame retardant in an amount of 0.1-50 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of a resin.
