To obtain a composition which comprises a poly(phenylene ether) resin and a poly(arylene sulfide) resin and is improved in properties such as flame resistance and in chemical resistance and stretchability by incorporating a specific resin.
This composition comprises a poly(phenylene ether) resin (a), a poly(arylene sulfide) resin (b), and a siloxane copolymer resin (c). The amounts of components (a), (b), and (c) are preferably about 5-95wt.%, about 5-95wt.%, and about 0.1-15wt.%, respectively, based on the whole composition. Preferred examples of the component (c) are represented by the formula [wherein U is a polyimide, polyetherimide, polycarbonate, poly(phenylene ether), polyester, copolyester, polyamide, polyolefin, polyurethane, or polyacrylate; and R is a 1-14C hydrocarbon group or a 6-20C aromatic group].
