To obtain a flame-retarded resin composition which is free of bleeding of a flame retardant and is excellent in flame retardance by compounding a thermoplastic resin with a flame retardant and a polyester resin, each in a specified amount.
This composition comprises 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin, 0.5-100 pts.wt. flame retardant, and a polyester resin in an amount of 1-200 wt.% of the flame retardant. Preferably, the polyester resin is an aromatic or aliphatic polyester resin having a number average mol.wt. of 1,000-500,000. A lactone polymer obtained by the ring-opening polymerization of a 4-11C lactone is preferable as the aliphatic polyester resin, poly--caprolactone being preferable. Preferably, the flame retardant is at least one flame retardant selected from among bromine-base, chlorine-base, phosphosrus-base, phosphoric ester-base, polyphosphoric acid-base, nitrogen-base, and inorganic-base flame retardants. If necessary, the composition further contains at least one additive selected from among inorganic compounds, organic compounds, and other resin additives.
