PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side body structure of an automobile that is configured to receive wheels, once turned outward and displaced, in a lateral direction of a side sill, by which shear rigidity in a width direction across a predetermined region of the side sill and a cross member connection part is enhanced and the wheels are received by a side face of the side sill, not by a tip face thereof at a small overlap collision so that deformation of a vehicle interior toward inside in a vehicle width direction is suppressed.SOLUTION: A first reinforcement 73 having a ridge line X1 at a corner part is provided along an upper part of an outer side in a vehicle width direction of a side sill inner; and the ridge line X1 of the first reinforcement 73 and a ridge line above the side sill inner are formed across a predetermined region α and a cross member connection part β, where interference between the wheels and a side sill 5 may be caused by turning outward and displacement of the wheels, so to overlap with each other and extend in a longitudinal direction of a vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
