To provide a flash device including two light emitting parts, a flash light emitting part and an illuminating part, the device capable of controlling temperature elevation due to lighting in the illuminating part.

The flash light emitting part includes a first light source for flash light emission. The illuminating part includes a second light source that is continuously lit for a predetermined period. An illumination temperature detecting part detects the temperature of the second light source. A control part controls lighting by the second light source based on the temperature detected by the illumination temperature detecting part. This technology can be applied, for example, to a flash device including the flash light emitting part and the illuminating part.
